Ghee: exotic name, local ingredients

In the end, butter lard, or ghee, as they refer to it in Ayurveda, is nothing more than butter, from which milk sugar and protein were boiled out. The water also evaporates in the process.

Advantages of clarified butter compared to conventional butter

Because it contains almost no water, it lasts forever and one can also store it at room temperature.

You can heat it up to 374 degrees Fahrenheit, a temperature at which the protein in the butter would burn. It is also suitable for people with lactose intolerance.
